The International Organization for Migration is seeking qualified Nepali National for the following position based in Kathmandu.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief Migration Health Physician, and the Chief of Mission Nepal for over all administrative issues, and under the direct supervision of International Migration Health Physician, Kathmandu, the successful candidate will be responsible for the reporting of chest radiographs of Migrants and refugees under the different health assessment programs in from MHD Damak and MHAC Kathmandu Nepal and directly supervise the radiology unit staff in Kathmandu and remain second manager of radiology unit in Damak. He/She will specifically perform the following activities: 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Organize and maintain optimal workflow in the radiological units to ensure quick and uninterrupted radiological testing and delivery of the films and reports by carrying out the following tasks:
      a. Establish and maintain a system of the internal and external quality                control of the IOM radiological testing
     b. Testing including but not limited to a system of identification check of the        migrants and ensure that all steps of the radiological testing are as free of          fraud.
  • Establish and maintain radiological safety measures and procedures.
  • Interpret all digital chest X-rays (CXRs) assigned and other X-Rays films, correctly identifying radiological signs of TB and other incidental findings and report the results in accordance with the country specific X-ray reporting forms and the technical guidelines of the resettlement countries, in a timely manner.
  • Assess quality of chest radiographs to meet optimal diagnostic criteria and make sure that the quality of the films corresponds to the required standards. Request for repeat CXR when the CXR is suboptimal and appropriate additional view when additional views is needed. 
  • Assess follow-up radiographs of patients on Anti-TB treatment, re-medical, referrals and PDMS (pre-departure medical screening) CXRs and do comparison with previous CXR(s) and report the change.
  • Use eMedical and eHealth websites for Canada and Australia cases; correctly and timely submit the CXR reports. Properly use UKTB global website for reporting CXRs under UKTB program. 
  • Make recommendation for further imaging in the remark part of the reporting and discuss with the panel physician when needed.
  • Liaise with the counterparts in the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), DIAC and CIC, regarding radiological testing. Contribute to, and if required, lead on the global effort to standardize radiological practices and CXR interpretation
  • Coordinate and communicate with Manila teleradiology center for any second opinion on CXR reporting, and with CMHP and with Heads of clinics in Damak and Kathmandu for issues related to managing the unit and to advice changes. 
  • Supervise and manage the activities of Radiology unit and guide the Radiographers and the Medical Clerk in the unit for CXR quality, smooth workflow and timely clerical works like CD burning, uploading images to eMedical and eHealth, delivery of the reports. Cooperate in CXR related statistical works. 
  • Participate in internal and external CXR reporting quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) measures. 
  • Arrange and ensure that back up service is secured. To develop SOPs for back up Radiology system if there is a break- down of the existing machines in Kathmandu and Damak.
  • Establish and maintain a system of the internal and external quality control of the IOM radiological.
  • Assists in maintenance and procurement of radiological equipment and expendables, if necessary. 
  • Advises on the specifications of the equipment, manufactures; investigate and advise on the cost-effective solutions.
  • Trains Radiographers in radiological techniques and MHPs in CXR interpretation by organizing regular conferences with demonstrations and discussions of cases.
  • Ensures that all relevant data related to radiological testing are entered to MIMOSA and other related databases.
  • Analyses data related to the radiological aspect of the health assessment programme for presentation and programme planning and submit to the CMHP regular narrative and statistical reports on Radiological services
  • If needed and requested by MHD HQ, travel to other countries for the purpose of quality control or other radiological services such as training of IOM staff, and, if necessary, set up of new radiological facilities.
  • Liaises with the external service provider regarding quality of the images, safety measures and, if necessary, referrals for additional imaging tests to make sure that the quality of the films corresponds to the required standards.
  • Organize storage of the X-Ray reports as well soft copies of the digital X-Ray films.
  • Perform QC of CXRs reported by other radiologists including Manila Radiology Center during his absence.
  • Perform other related tasks as may be assigned 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Bachelor degree in Medicine, (MBBS). And/ or medical doctorate degree ( MD) 
  • Post graduate degree in (Radiology), certificate obligatory 
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Radiology
  • Thorough knowledge of the natural history, radiological and clinical presentation of tuberculosis required 
  • Experience in staff administration and management is advantage
  • Experience in data analysis and management an advantage
